I was listening to a webinar called “how to live like a magical unicorn” and the facilitator, Cory Michelle talked about gratitude. She said that to increase our gratitude we need to be grateful for everything, the good, the bad, the ugly. And for the bad and the ugly, we can ask “what is the gift in this?” It is not about figuring it out, but by asking, we may get a different perspective, later. And this different perspective can create space for a different possibility. How does it get any better than that?
I am grateful for this awesome inspiring webinar!

One of my managers is retiring. I am happy for her and sad for me because she is awesome at her job. Her awesomeness made my job easier. I am grateful I got to work with her. And what would it take for the manager who will replace her to be as fantastic?

I went out on my lunch break, looking for something to be grateful for or in awe of or enthusiastic about. After a few minutes walking outside, I started noticing the sidewalk art made by the colorful autumn leaves. And sure enough I couldn’t stop myself from collecting the perfect orange leaf.
I am grateful for the colors of today.

I am grateful for Thanksgiving dinner: good food good company and good leftovers. How does it get any better than that?

“On ne voit bien qu’avec le coeur. L’essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.”
Since I used this quote as a mantra when I was a kid, I would like to translate it slightly differently: We only see well when looking with our heart. what’s essential is invisible to the eye.
Opening our heart or keeping it open is no small feat. I am grateful for the tools I have learned along the way allowing me to re-open my heart a little more every day.

I want to feel more alive, more vibrant with gratitude for being alive. According to Matt Kahn, if I declare that I am that, I accelerate the process of becoming it. So here it is:
I am grateful for my life, I feel vibrant with energy and the feeling of gratitude and Joy.
What are you declaring, what are you being and becoming today?

I tried to go voting and there was such a long line up that I turned around. I will go later.
I am grateful that I live in a country where I can vote and that so many others decided to do the same at the same time I did. They are so smart!!!

While looking for gratitude ideas, I came accross a great article. It had four questions that would really please my dad, Alain, because they don’t use the word gratitude which as you may know has a different connotation in French:
What touched me today?
Who or what inspired me today?
What made me smile today?
What’s the best thing that happened today?
I am grateful for my colleague who laughed with me to the story I was sharing and for Rolly for providing the story…

This morning I was going through notes I wrote in 2012 and I found one that I had titled My book of Awesome. I had started it after coming across “The Book of Awesome” from Neil Pasrisha and thought it was a great idea. Over several days, I had written things that happened that I thought were awesome like wearing my gumboots and enjoying stepping into puddles or feeling fashionable because other women at the bus stop were wearing gumboots too!
I realized that a book of Awesome is similar to a gratitude journal. Reading it this morning certainly lifted my mood one notch higher.
So what’s in your book of Awesome?
